I am so excited as the new cupboard son is making for me nears completion. It has a small wine rack, one small drawer and one large one. The top is a cutting board. The whole cabinet is on wheels, but sized to fit a small empty wall in the kitchen. I offered to do the staining and varnishing since I did the rest of the kitchen cupboards when we built them and I rather enjoy that part of the project anyway. Pictures to follow soon as the cabinet is done.
Still awaiting the panel doors and the revised drawer front, but here's the rough photos of incomplete cabinet. Here is the top drawer with out its facing, and the removable butcher block top. You can see the wine rack box inside with a heavy duty drawer below. And from the wine rack side. Son was experimenting with possible panel door shapers when I came inside. Should be staining before day's end! That butcher block cutting board was a Christmas gift 4 years ago. It was too big to store and hard to lift, so it mostly sat in a corner on the counter top holding clutter. Now it can be really put to use. The whole cabinet is on wheels so I can get it where I'm working when needed.
Here's the final product -- my new kitchen cabinet with cutting board. My dog, Cee Cee, is checking out the new piece.
